This has nothing to do with what went down the other night at the VMA's with Kayne's jackass, first of all. For a long time I've liked Taylor Swift, and like the rest of the world was swept up by her sweet, American girl self. She seems so normal, and I've never said that about a celebrity before and actually meant it.
I remember reading Rolling Stone, Seventeen, etc, and just being mesmerized by how ridiculously kind-hearted she is. She's so much like a "princess", but without the diva aspect of it that girl's of my generation have adopted. So many girls these days claim they're "princesses", but really a majority of them are just spoiled brats and want everything handed to them on a silver platter. Check out a princess movie girls, real princesses aren't rude Miss. Priss's, they're adorable, polite, and wonderfully nice. Also, by adorable I do not mean physically attractive. You can be anyone of any shape, look, size, whatever and be adorable. It's all about how you carry yourself!
I will admit that after the VMA scandal I've seen Taylor around the media more, like on TV, the internet, etc, which has sparked my sudden, larger interest in her. Today I checked out her YouTube channel (which is absolutely hilarious) so I could listen to a song of her's that I love, and I saw that she had "vlogs". I was surprised. In them you can really tell how truly kind and deeply genuine she is. I love the video where she pulls cinnamon rolls out of her purse, and her cousin—I think it was her cousin—thought she was weird for carrying them around all day in her purse, haha. I could really relate because that's definitely something I would do. I know she loves to bake too (or at least I think she does), which I've read about before in a magazine, and I love to bake all the time.
If I could choose exactly how I wanted to be in my "perfect life" (I know no one's life is perfect, but perfect compared to mine) I'd want to be just like her. :) You're a true inspiration Taylor to so many young girls, teenage girls, young and old women alike on how to be a proper lady!

Eventful Day at OYA
Made cupcakes with Bianca, caught up a lot, planned for her birthday party Saturday. Saw Oreo's new car, went to OYA, and Kaffa was there! :D Everyone really liked the cupcakes, and thought it was funny they had pigs on them, considering I had swine flu-H1N1 really-a few weeks ago. Also, I am very serious. It was not 100% confirmed, the doctor couldn't tell me for sure at the time of my visit, but I had a 95% chance of having it, so I'm pretty sure that's what it was. It's course was exactly how H1N1 is described as well. However, I am alive and okay, obviously.
Unfortunately though, not everyone is so lucky. A friend told me today a friend of his just passed away earlier this month from the virus. I hope she rests in peace.
Having H1N1 really made me think about something. If I were to have died, I would have died feeling like I did not contribute enough to the world to have even deserved to exist. It made me realize I need to start putting things into the world NOW because some, unexpected day it may be too late.
Although I made light of it with pig sprinkles on the cupcakes, it's very serious, and not a joke. I strongly suggest checking out the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention H1N1 flu site if you are uninformed on the virus. Here's the link: CDC H1N1 Flu | H1N1 Flu and You
So anyway, enough about that, I went to the UCF 'Equal' group tonight, I believe it was their first night of the new school year. Pretty cool :) I'll probably never get a chance to go back again, but it was neat. :)
Now here's a picture of me and Bianca from today. :) Time for bed now.
I woke up with a smile on my face..
..because even though I had turned off my alarm this morning and slept until 1 (oops!), I knew I had cute hair, haha. It's ridiculous how much just changing one thing can boost your confidence!! I feel great today :D
Well now my friend Bianca is coming over, and she's going to help me bake/decorate cupcakes for OYA. :) They're going to be so cute, I have a great idea for them! I'll take a picture once they're done to put up here. :)
I really need to finish my thank you cards too today so I can give some of them out tonight, ughhh, so busy. Wish I hadn't turned off my alarm. :( On top of that, somehow I unplugged my phone when I turned it off, so now it's only half charged and that's not going to work. I need a battery with extended life. Ugh.

Vincent/Outing
(Originally written on March 13th, 2009. Posted to COSA18 on September 16th, 2009.)
I was still down today, naturally. I've looked up a lot of information about leopard geckos, and I found I did a lot of things wrong with V. I feel guilty because I did so many things wrong, but I honestly didn't know. One thing I have learned is to NOT TRUST PET STORES. Advice they give is usually WRONG WRONG WRONG. I looked up PetLand's website, and they say to put a bright light over your reptile (categorizing them all together), and I read on a website for gecko care that such lights can make them not eat.
If I do get another gecko, it will of course not be the same. But I will have a lot more knowledge than I did with Vincent. However, the guilt still tugs at me, because it's not his fault I had poor knowledge. It's mine, but it isn't at the same time. I was fed wrong information, and believed it, and he suffered ultimately in death.

Well, today I went out with Steph. We went to Olive Garden, I saw Casey Anthony's parents and brother there, which I thought was worth sharing as a 'celebrity sighting', even though I've seen her mom 'in the flesh' before. Anyway, they got rid of the entree I love (it was limited time only unfortunately), so I probably won't be back there for a while.
We went to JoAnn's to get something for Steph's ceiling fan, but instead she got three pairs of knitting needles (some ridiculously huge), three balls of yarn, some acrylic paint, and brushes, haha.
After we went to Stardust for the slam, which was our initial reason for the outing. /shrug

Here's some pics. This one is my word map in the game of Bananagrams we played at Stardust. Pretty fancy words~
Here's some of the enormous needles Steph wanted to buy, that I talked her out of, lol
And here's some cookies I made last night.
